Auditions

Leading Ladies

 By Ken Ludwig

Directed by Joel Guerrero

Auditions will be held on Monday March 5, 2012 at 7pm. Please arrive by 6:45pm to fill out an audition form.

5 Males and 3 Females

Plot: In this hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo , two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces! Romantic entanglements abound, especially when Leo falls head-over-petticoat in love with the old lady's vivacious niece, Meg, who's engaged to the local minister. Meg knows that there's a wide world out there, but it's not until she meets "Maxine and Stephanie" that she finally gets a taste of it. -Samuel French

All of our regular season productions are OPEN AUDITIONS which means everyone is warmly welcome! If you are interested in serving as a stage manager or on a tech crew, please come to auditions to sign-up on the "Tech Audition Form." No experience is necessary for acting roles or tech positions.

Please arrive by 6:45 p.m. to have enough time to fill out the audition form. Please bring with you:

1. A one-page performance and or tech resume listing any performance or tech related experience. (If you do not have any prior performance/tech experience, that is ok, we would still love to have you audition!)

2. A headshot or recent photo is required. Bring a headshot or a photo of yourself that we can keep and attach to your audition form.

3. An idea of your upcoming schedule and/or any conflicts you might have if you are casted.

4. Most importantly bring a sense of humor! We will be doing "cold readings" from various scenes in the play. What we are looking for is not how well you can read the scene, but how creative and interesting you can make the scene for each character.

***The cost of renting a script is $5, plus a $5 security deposit, which is refunded upon the return of the script. If you have any questions please call the box office at 325.949.4400 for more information***
