Youth & Education Coordinator

       After getting hooked on community theatre at 14, Donna Aycock attended McMurry University on a theatre scholarship. While an undergraduate, Donna got her first taste of writing for and directing children as a member of Voices Unmasked: Teen Theatre for Prevention, a traveling troupe that used theatre to educate grades K-12 in Region XIV.   After graduating as Outstanding Senior in her department with a BFA in Theatre with an emphasis in acting and directing, Donna continued honing her youth direction skills at Abilene Performing Arts Company. 

While never far from the theatre, Donna  has also worked with victims of violent crime, and later with hospice patients and their families.  One of her greatest joys (and challenges) has been creating the curriculum for grieving children to address and express grief and loss at VistaCare Hospice's First Step 4 Kids Bereavement Camp.

In addition to acting in dozens of plays, Donna has done radio and television commercials, independent films, and works as a production designer/consultant for Zallerquad Films. She has completed acting and directing workshops at Carmichael Studios and Chicago City Limits in New York, an intensive course in Improv with Jeff Wirth and learned stage makeup techniques directly from the industry's premiere supplier.

Donna started her relationship with ACT in 2008, when she directed ‘Grease'.  ‘Camelot', ‘Grace and Glorie' and ‘Mister Roberts' soon followed.

A strong believer in the therapeutic and transformative powers of theatre, Donna attributes her confidence as an adult to her early experiences in the theatre and is passionate about sharing this gift through ACT's Youth Program

Donna is also an avid horsewoman, and she is privileged to share her life with her husband Matthew, son Harrison, dogs Kenneth and Walter, and her horse Marley.
