This charming story, adapted by Terrence McNally with music and lyrics by David Yazbek from the hit movie, is about six unemployed steel workers struggling to make ends meet. They find inspiration to live, love, and laugh again. |
A perfect anecdote to the frustrations of the economy.
Based on the 1997 movie, what sounds like a highly sexualized event is actually one of the most sweet and touching stories to come to the stage. The songs are lyrical and vivacious, the show's rhythm is smart and idiosyncratic, and the story deals with the most neglected aspect of humanity today: self image.
This production will be directed by Producing Artistic Director Shannon C. Harman, with scenic and lighting design by Technical Director/Resident Designer Curtis Ashby, costume design by Marjee Mills, choreography by Teresa Branon & Suzie O'Donnell, and stage managed by Landa Cason.
Again the show is RATED R. Please be aware of this rating. The production contains very strong language and mature content. |
